These proposals for a new Velodrome in Guangzhou were developed as part of an international design competition. The island site is masterplanned around a central lake and green landscaped heart, and will eventually host 10 university campuses with a population of over 150,000 students. Lying within the ‘Sports and Information Zone’, our design has been inspired by the concentric rings of ripples caused by raindrops or stones falling into still water..........
