Taipei Performing Arts Center | Taipei | Taiwan | Architects Collective


The Performing Arts Center is located in downtown Taipei in the vicinity of a large open market and consists of three distinct and different theaters and ancillary buildings. By designing a continuous ramp-like public landscape, the design offers visitors the opportunity to take on the role of the observer and the role of the observed. A theater is created between spectators and visitors. The positive and negative space of the complex creates a dramatic flow between indoor and outdoor space which is consistent with the city centre.
